National Right to Life Internships

class of 2011Internships with National Right to Life provide college students from around the country the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the pro-life movement at the national level. Every summer approximately 10 interns are selected to serve in one of NRLC’s 14 departments. Interns quickly become part of the departmental staff and become invaluable to the day-to-day operations. Additionally, interns may be assigned projects by department directors to complete throughout the summer. In cooperation with the Blackstone Fellowship with the Alliance Defending Freedom, NRLC also provides the opportunity for law students to clerk under supervision of licensed attorneys in both the Medical Ethics and State Legislative Departments.

Interns are required to attend weekly seminars held at the NRLC office. Each week, NRLC staff examine the issues the pro-life movement faces, including current legislation, how to deal with the media, the pro-life advantage in elections, and more. These “one-on-one” sessions with NRLC’s professional staff allow interns to get the most out of their summer experience.

In addition, some interns attend the annual National Right to Life Convention. They help the Convention run smoothly, and are able to attend the workshops and general sessions which provide a great opportunity to learn from the most knowledgeable people in the pro-life movement.

Learning about the pro-life movement and the hands-on experience NRLC provides are only part of our internship program. Interns often form long-lasting friendships and make invaluable connections
while at NRLC.

Our central location in Washington, D.C. also provides interns the opportunity to see some of the sights of the nation’s Capital, get out and play softball on the Mall after work or head to nearby-Georgetown for dinner.
