National Right to Life on House Passage of Bipartisan Budget

Jul 26, 2019 | 2019 Press Releases, Press Releases

WASHINGTON — The following statement can be attributed to Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee:

National Right to Life praises President Donald Trump and Republican congressional leadership for their work in the House passage of the bipartisan two-year budget and debt-ceiling deal. We thank the leadership for insisting that pro-life policy rollbacks are not open for negotiation.

We thank House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and House Whip Steve Scalise along with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Whip John Cornyn for their hard work.

Rolling back pro-life policies, such as the Hyde Amendment, would be a step backward in protecting women and their unborn children. We thank President Trump and Republican leaders for making it clear that these pro-life policies are not open for compromise.

Founded in 1968, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
