In a survey conducted by doctoral student Michael T. Heaney (summary published in The Hill, October 1, 2003), the National Right to Life Committee ranked 8th overall among 171 interest groups on health-related issues.  No other pro-life group was listed among the top 25.

“It is certainly a good thing for unborn children that National Right to Life
has repeatedly been rated near the top in effectiveness among hundreds of
advocacy groups in Washington,”
stated David N. O’Steen, Ph.D., executive director of the National Right to Life Committee.

The survey included 171 interest groups and involved interviews with over 95 congressional staffers.  The Planned Parenthood Federation of America ranked only 12th and NARAL ranked 14th

“These findings are a testament to the hard work and sacrifice of our contributors, our state affiliates and over 3,000 grassroots chapters, as well as our Federal Legislative and Medical Ethics Departments,” stated Dr. O’Steen.

In previous years, the National Right to Life Committee ranked in the top twenty of Fortune’s Magazine’s “Most Influential” list every year the survey was done.
