Every
fall,
the
Combined
Federal
Campaign
(CFC)
presents
a
wonderful
opportunity
for
federal
employees
to
give
to
their
favorite
charity.
This
presents
a
golden
opportunity
for
pro-lifers
to
help
the
National
Right
to
Life
Educational
Trust
Fund
educate
the
public
about
the
plight
of
the
unborn,
elderly,
and
handicapped.
But
you
must
hurry.
The
CFC
ends
in
December.
(State
government
employees
have
a
program
of
their
own,
as
do a
growing
number
of
private-sector
workplaces.
See
the
end
of
this
article
for
more
details.)
You
can
find
the
Trust
Fund
this
fall
in
your
CFC
brochure
under
the
federation
called
HSCA
(Human
Service
Charities
of
America).
You
will
find
it
under
HSCA
Agency
#2844.
The
Trust
Fund
has
participated
in
the
CFC
for
almost
26
years.
The
CFC
is a
cost-efficient
workplace
giving
program
created
by
the
Office
of
Personnel
Management
to
provide
federal
employees
with
philanthropic
giving
opportunities.
Indeed,
the
CFC
is
the
largest
annual
workplace
giving
campaign
with
more
than
300
campaigns
throughout
the
country
and
overseas.
CFC
activities
take
place
in
military
bases
and
postal
offices
around
the
country,
where
employees
receive
a
CFC
brochure.
This
brochure
lists
hundreds
of
charities
from
which
to
select
and
makes
it
convenient
to
give
through
payroll
deductions.
Each
year
the
Trust
Fund
shares
CFC
proceeds
with
its
state
affiliate
groups,
who
utilize
the
funds
to
educate
citizens
in
many
ways
that
directly
affect
lives.
NRL's
workplace
campaigns
coordinator
receives
many
grateful
letters
and
e-mails
from
state
affiliates.
From
this
correspondence
we
know
that
they
are
industriously
using
those
resources
in
numerous
effective
ways.
There
are,
for
example,
educational
talks
in
schools
and
to
civic
groups,
educational
booths
at
state
and
local
fairs,
educational
advertising
messages,
and
educational
literature
that
is
sent
out
upon
request
to
the
public.
Many
of
our
state
affiliate
groups
also
provide
direct
counseling
and
offer
emotional
and
financial
support
to
those
individuals
and
families
in
crisis
pregnancy
situations
with
toll-free
24-hour
hotlines
for
counseling
and
referrals.
Many
NRL
affiliates,
such
as
Hawaii
Right
to
Life,
provide
special
focus
on
the
issues
of
euthanasia
and
assisted
suicide
in
addition
to
educating
on
abortion.
On
its
web
site,
Hawaii
RTL
alerts
the
public
to
important
anti-euthanasia
resources
such
as
the
Nightingale
Alliance.
There
are
so
many
grassroots
projects
which
educate
the
public
on
right
to
life
issues
that
they
cannot
all
be
listed
here.
Suffice
it
to
report
that
CFC
contributions
are
an
invaluable
assistance
to
the
Trust
Fund
and
the
education
funds
of
NRLC's
state
affiliates.
As
noted
above,
additional
funds
are
generated
and
shared
from
a
number
of
state
employee
and
private
sector
campaigns.
Currently
the
National
Right
to
Life
Educational
Trust
Fund
is
participating
in
California,
District
of
Columbia,
Maine,
Massachusetts,
Michigan,
Missouri,
New
Jersey,
New
York,
North
Carolina,
Ohio,
Rhode
Island,
Washington,
and
Wisconsin.
Further,
many
private
sector
workplaces
now
offer
employee
giving
campaigns,
so
simply
check
with
yours
to
see
if
you
can
"write
in"
the
National
Right
to
Life
Educational
Trust
Fund
as
another
opportunity
to
help
the
unborn,
elderly,
and
disabled.
So
if
you
are
a
government
employee
(or
know
someone
who
is),
see
your
campaign
coordinator
for
a
brochure
and
pledge
card
this
fall.
As
mentioned
above
look
for
National
Right
to
Life
Educational
Trust
Fund
(agency
#2844)
listed
under
the
workplace
campaign
federation
called
Human
Service
Charities
of
America
(HSCA).
If
you
are
a
state
government
employee,
look
for
NRL
under
HSCA's
parent
group
called
Neighbor
to
Nation
(NTN).
