You and I Can Prevent a Second Obama Term!

Every once in a while, I hear from someone who says they are pro-life, but that they intend to vote for Barack Obama for other reasons.

But from listening to their arguments, I firmly believe we can win enough of these people to the pro-life Romney/Ryan camp to win the election. Here’s why:

Polls show a majority of Americans oppose abortion. But some of those pro-lifers still don’t understand that when they vote for a presidential candidate who supports abortion “rights,” they are voting for the killing of many thousands, perhaps even hundreds of thousands of additional children, and to allow the most brutal of late abortions.

Take, for example, the president’s power to appoint Supreme Court justices and other federal judges.

The fact that we had a pro-life president from 2001–09 dramatically changed abortion jurisprudence—in other words, the way the Supreme Court looks at abortion.

After President Bush appointed two Supreme Court justices who believe the states and Congress have legitimate interests in protecting unborn life, the Court for the first time since Roe v. Wade allowed an entire method of performing late abortions—partial-birth abortion—to be banned, and not just regulated, as it had in previous rulings.

This was an enormous step forward because it suggested to us the Court might allow other abortions to be banned, as well. As a result, we are now passing state laws to ban abortion when the child is developed enough to feel pain.

But tragically, these humanitarian laws that save so many lives will likely be struck down if Obama gets a second term and gets to appoint even one Supreme Court justice as a replacement for one of the justices who have been voting to uphold limits on abortion.

That makes a second Obama term a clear and present danger to the lives of unborn children, not some “theoretical” threat that justifies weighing “other” issues against it. Simply put, anyone who thinks a vote for Obama isn’t a vote for many more aborted babies is wrong. Dead wrong.

But there’s good news: Polls show a sizeable number of Americans will change their votes to the pro-life candidate when presented with these facts.

And that is precisely the strength of the National Right to Life Victory Fund! The NRL Victory Fund uses the most effective techniques to find and persuade pro-life voters to vote for the pro-life candidates because of the pro-life issue. Exit polling shows we can win over many more votes than pro-abortion PACs can, and because of that advantage, we can sway many more races our way.

These campaigns work! National Right to Life’s political action committee, which uses the same proven grassroots techniques, has a history of winning more than two-thirds of its races when matched head-to-head against well-funded pro-abortion PACs like the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC, and EMILY’s List.

The key now, with just a little time left before the election, is to ask for your help. Even at this late date, gifts from pro-life supporters like you will allow us to run more pro-life campaign ads and make more get-out-the-vote phone calls in the key battleground states we need to win!

To show the impact your gift would have, consider this: If you donate $100 now, it would enable the National Right to Life Victory Fund to buy up to four additional radio campaign ads in one of the battleground states that will decide the election.

Alternatively, a gift of $100 would enable us to make almost 3,000 additional get-out-the-vote phone calls. Imagine, if you could give $500, it could generate as many as 14,000 get-out-the-vote calls in key swing states!

We can buy more ads and arrange more get-out-the-vote phone calls literally right up to election day, but we’d need your gift by then to do so!
