Successful Pro-Life Outreach
at Pan-American Festival

In early October, several employees of National Right to Life met up
with members of our Alexandria, Virginia, chapter at the
Pan-American Festival which was held in Springfield, Virginia. The
Pan-American Festival is a unique Latin-American event with
thousands of participants and hundreds of booths for businesses,
vendors, and organizations such as NRLC.
In a part of the country where the Latino population has exploded,
the Festival gathers thousands families from the Northern Virginia
area to celebrate their cultures through music, food, and dance. It
was also a celebration of their cultural values which support the
rights of mothers and their unborn children.
The crowd very enthusiastically received our pro-life message.
Among the people we met was one gentleman who explained he was very
upset with President Obama because he had overturned the Mexico City
Policy, thereby funding private organizations that perform and
promote abortion overseas.
Many families also stopped to admire our set of fetal models. One
mother told us that her son had been born prematurely, showing us at
which stage he had been born. Today, he was a very healthy and
happy little boy.
By the time the event drew to a close, nearly every family was
holding an NRLC bag full of pro-life, Spanish-language material. At
home, they will be able to see where the presidential candidates
stand on the life issues, religious liberty, and about the dangers
of health care rationing in ObamaCare. They will even have a
“Votamos Pro-Vida” bumper sticker for their car!
It was such an amazing experience to know that, together with a
local pro-life chapter, we ensured that so many Latino households
will be fully informed when they vote this November.
Un existoso alcance en el festival
panamericano

Este Domingo pasado, yo y varios empleados de National Right to Life
nos reunimos con miembros de nuestro capítulo de Alexandria,
Virginia, en el Festival Panamericano que se celebró en Springfield,
Virginia. El Festival Panamericano es un evento latinoamericano
único, con miles de participantes y cientos de expositores,
incluyendo organizaciones como NRLC.
En esta parte del país donde la población latina ha crecido
muchísimo, el festival reúne a miles de familias de la zona norte de
Virginia para celebrar sus culturas a través de su música, comida y
baile. Era también una celebración de los valores culturales que
apoyan los derechos de las madres y sus hijos no nacidos.
La gente recibió con mucho entusiasmo nuestro mensaje pro-vida.
Entre las personas que conocimos, hubo un hombre quien explicó que
estaba muy molesto con presidente Obama por haber anulado la
Política de Ciudad de México, así permitiendo la financiación de las
organizaciones privadas que realizan y promueven el aborto en
ultramar.
Muchas familias también se detuvieron a admirar nuestros modelos
fetales. Una madre nos dijo que su propio hijo había nacido antes de
tiempo y nos mostró en que etapa había nacido. Hoy en día, su hijo
es un niño muy sano y feliz.
Al final del evento, casi cada familia tenía en la mano una bolsa
llena de materiales informativos pro-vida de NRLC. Con esta
informacion, ellos podran ver la estancia de los candidatos
presidenciales en asuntos de la vida, la libertad religiosa, y los
peligros de salud de racionamiento en ObamaCare. La bolsa tambien
incluía una pegatina para el parachoques que dice “Votamos
Pro-Vida”!
Fue una experiencia increíble. Imagínense: gracias al trabajo de un
capítulo local, nos aseguramos de que los hogares latinos esten
plenamente informados cuando voten en Noviembre.
