The
Obama Abortion Agenda and the Congress: The Last Four Years
By Douglas Johnson
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 1, 2012)–Over the four years of Barack
Obama’s presidency, substantial damage has been inflicted to
longstanding pro-life policies. In addition, new programs have been
created which, during the years ahead, will result in large-scale
federal subsidies to health plans that pay for abortion, other
federally driven expansions of abortion, and rationing of lifesaving
medical care, unless remedial legislation is enacted.
In addition, Obama placed two strongly pro-abortion justices on the
U.S. Supreme Court.
However, during the last four years, additional pro-abortion
initiatives have been deterred, blocked, or repaired by pro-life
forces.
If pro-life Mitt Romney is elected president on November 6, we can
begin to repair the worst damage, and to resume the previous
progress towards increased protections for unborn children and other
vulnerable members of the human family. But if President Obama is
re-elected, the damage will be compounded tenfold.
In short: The last four years have been bad, but it could have been
much worse–and if Barack Obama is given another four years in
office, it will be.

An Important
Last-Minute Reminder: It All Begins with You
By Jacki Ragan
Four years ago I wrote a story for National Right to Life News under
the headline, “An Important Last-Minute Reminder: It All Begins with
You.” Why the same headline? Has nothing changed?
To the contrary, everything has changed. A dedicated pro-life
President, George W. Bush, was replaced by the most pro-abortion
President in our nation’s history who without fail has fulfilled the
fondest hopes of Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and EMILY’s List. For
nearly four years President Barack Obama gave not an inch in pushing
their agenda, all the while insisting he was seeking “common
ground.” Whether at home or abroad, his True North is more
abortions. Were he to be re-elected, Mr. Obama would only be
emboldened to do more to promote the culture of death.
What has not changed, however, is that unborn babies rely on you. It
is your volunteer power matched up against an Abortion Establishment
that is rolling in money, aided and abetted by a compliant
“mainstream media.”
This campaign has gone on so long it almost seems as if it started
in the last century. But in a curious way, this long-drawn-out
campaign has served a very important purpose. We know Mitt Romney
and Rep. Paul Ryan make a powerful pro-life team, the starkest
possible alternative to pro-abortion President Obama and Vice
President Joe Biden.

NOVEMBER 7
By Carol Tobias
There is a very small minority in this country who think abortion should
be legal anywhere, any time, for any reason, and they want our tax
dollars to pay for it. Unfortunately, one of those in the small minority
is our President, Barack Obama. He is, without question, the most
pro-abortion president we’ve ever had.
Bill Clinton, during his time in office, at least tried to convince us
that he thought abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare.” President
Obama puts forth no such pretense. Neither as a legislator nor as
president has he ever supported a single bill or amendment that would
place limits on abortion at any time in pregnancy. Somehow, the innocent
unborn child has become the enemy that must be sacrificed at all cost.
Obama doesn’t just give lip service to abortion advocates, he fights for
them. He opposes, and threatens vetoes of, legislation that would limit
abortion in any way or for any reason. He ignores the wishes of state
and local governments, bypassing them to contract directly with Planned
Parenthood affiliates, and as he promised Planned Parenthood during the
2008 campaign, he has made expansion of abortion a major component of
his health care reform law.
President Obama has already appointed two pro-abortion members of the
Supreme Court. If given another four years and more appointments, he
could delay the reversal of Roe v. Wade for another generation.
