NTL Summit 2010: Join Us in Making History

By Joleigh Little

Finally! We have the absolutely perfect year for the National Teens for Life Summit. We have been waiting five years for this scenario ... the March for Life is on a Friday!!!

Now this may not seem like a huge deal to all of you, but think about it for a minute. You make the long journey to Washington, D.C., to join a gigantic throng of fellow pro-lifers during an afternoon on the Mall. You experience that rush that comes from being surrounded by people who share your passion for the cause of life. Then what happens? You have to go home—away from all of the other amazing pro-life people. That’s not fun!

But this year it doesn’t all have to end so quickly. In fact, you can make a weekend out of it! Consider joining us for the National Teens for Life Summit at the Hyatt Regency in nearby Crystal City, VA, January 22–24.

The NTL Summit brings together young people ages junior high through college for a weekend of intense education on the life issues—seriously, if you want to learn all there is to know about being an advocate for the unborn and medically vulnerable, this is the place to be!

The activities begin at 6:00 on Friday night and the fun (and the learning) doesn’t end until Sunday afternoon. During that time participants will learn about the history of the right-to-life movement, stem cells and cloning, euthanasia, post-abortion syndrome, how to debate the life issues, and much, much more from speakers who are the leading experts in each of these fields. This year we will have a special focus on defending life in the wake of the “Obama Abortion Agenda.”

Along with the learning will be a healthy dose of fun—getting to know other pro-life young people while participating in games and activities that highlight the importance of protecting life. You will truly make friends who will last a lifetime.

Students will also take a guided field trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as the final event of the weekend. It is truly a moving experience that reminds us all why we fight so hard for the lives of the vulnerable.

It has been said that “those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.” We want to be certain that Summit participants fully understand the dangers of living in a society that deems certain types of people “disposable.” Comprehending that danger is a necessary step in learning to prevent it from happening again.

Never before has our cause faced such a critical challenge as we do at this particular point in history. The right to life is being threatened at every turn and protecting it will take all of us working together. Nothing is more dangerous to our opposition than a well-educated, passionate band of young people willing to speak up for the cause of life. Please join us in spreading that passion to all corners of our nation. We need YOU in order to make this happen.

Registration cost for the summit is $200 prior to January 4 and $225 after January 4—rooms are only guaranteed to those who meet the early registration deadline, although every effort will be made to accommodate everyone. Registration includes overnight lodging Friday and Saturday nights (four to a room) as well as all meals Friday supper through Sunday lunch.

We also have a Saturday Only option available for $40 per person for those who have other plans for the rest of the weekend. Special rates are negotiable for those who want to attend the Summit but already have lodging arranged for the weekend.

Come to D.C. for the March, stay for the Summit, and be a part of the solution. Help us recreate in our nation and the world a culture that respects and cherishes every innocent human life. The journey toward that goal will start with a single step—please take that step with us the weekend of January 22–24, 2010. You won’t regret it!
