Will Prepare You to “Stop the Abortion Agenda” BY Dave Andrusko It took all of about 45 seconds for me to re-learn my lesson. Early in the day, late at night, the particular time matters no more than the particular topic under discussion. In the end it’ll all come round to the same imperative: “Stop the Abortion Agenda.” “We are going to have to deal with pro-abortion President Barack Obama for four years,” said a determined NRL Convention coordinator Jacki Ragan, “and the better taught, trained, and motivated pro-lifers are, the more we can minimize the damage he intends to inflict to the cause of unborn babies.” Thus it comes as no surprise that the theme of National Right to Life’s national convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, June 18–20 is “Stop the Abortion Agenda.” And what a thousand-plus grassroots pro-lifers will experience when they arrive at the Blake Hotel is the kind of total immersion they can find nowhere else. Abortion "At the Heart" of Obama Plan Obama and Democratic Leaders in Congress Hoping To Impose Sweeping Abortion Mandates In "Health Care Reform" WASHINGTON (April 9, 2009) – Congressional Democratic leaders are currently at work crafting "health care reform" legislation that they, and President Obama, hope to ram through Congress on a fast track this summer. Many details of the legislation have not yet been determined. But this much is clear: President Obama, with the help of some of the most powerful Democrats in Congress, will attempt to use "health care reform" as a vehicle to impose sweeping pro-abortion mandates on the American health-care delivery system. "The pro-abortion movement sees federal 'health care reform' legislation as a golden opportunity to force-feed abortion into every nook and cranny of the health-care delivery system," explained NRLC Federal Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. "Their goal, as they sometimes put it, is to 'mainstream' abortion. They hope to use the structure of a federal health-care law to make abortion on demand accessible in every region of every state, paid for by taxes and by government-mandated private insurance premiums." Johnson warned, "If these people succeed, the result will be a very large increase in the number of abortions performed in America."

God, Country, Notre Dame Editor’s note. This month’s President’s column is a guest column written by Anthony J. Lauinger, Vice President of National Right to Life. Carved in the stone of Notre Dame’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart is an inscription: “God, Country, Notre Dame.” Simple, edifying, profound, those words, and what they represent, have inspired Notre Dame students for almost two centuries. Generations of alumni have lived by these words. More than a few have died for them. The order is not random; it’s no accident that “God” is first. God has always come first at Notre Dame. At least, until March 20, 2009; that was the day Notre Dame suffered an institutional identity crisis, the day Notre Dame stopped giving precedence to the eternal, the day the Fighting Irish quit fighting for what is right.
