Introducing NRLChapters.org: A Goldmine at Your Fingertips
By Holly Smith

I recently received an e-mail from an 81-year-old Washingtonian requesting information on which pro-life laws had been enacted in each state. She wants to share with her friends, the churches in her area, and anyone who will listen just how dangerous the so-called “Freedom of Choice Act” is and the commonsense laws FOCA will nullify. She is not computer savvy, but she knows how to e-mail and the basics of the Internet.

Seeing my grandmother on the Internet was an illuminating sign of the times—everyone is using it. And the more material we can share with pro-life leaders online, the faster they have access to it, the more they can educate their communities while we are able to reallocate precious resources previously spent on printing and mailing.

National Right to Life’s web site has long been an informative site for those seeking to educate themselves on the pro-life issues, legislative initiatives, and opportunities for local involvement. Many who come to NRL’s web page, www.nrlc.org, e-mail us to ask, “How can I get involved? I want to do more to help!” And many of those have gone on to become chapter members and leaders.

Recognizing the hard work of the many volunteers who make up our local chapters, we want to put all the tools a chapter needs to be successful at your fingertips. Thus, we are proud to announce the launch of NRLChapters.org, a web site exclusively for National Right to Life chapters.

There are pages available to anyone who visits the site. These include past issues of the NRL Contact, our bimonthly newsletter for chapters, as well as petitions to download and church bulletin inserts to order.

You will also notice a link to “login” and another to “create a new account.” Chapter leaders are encouraged to register for the site in order to access the information that is “for your eyes only.” After submitting the online form, National Right to Life will confirm your information and reply with your login information.

The password-protected portion of the web site will feature articles from various experts. The “comments” section layout encourages interaction among chapters. There are also exclusive downloads, clearance sales on educational materials, a private chat room specifically for chapter leaders, and other important chapter news and memos that will be posted before they are mailed.

As the pro-life movement braces for a government controlled by pro-abortion stalwarts, we will meet the new challenges that we will confront. We will continue to defend life, using not only the expertise accumulated over four decades, but also taking advantage of all the tools and new media that continues to develop.

NRLChapters.org enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of our grassroots chapters while making our dedicated volunteers’ work easier as well. Come see for yourself!
