#10542 under Human Service Charities of America To their great credit, Right to Life state and local chapters undertake varied and creative outreach efforts to help educate their communities about the plight of the unborn child. Each year since 1982, their projects have been bolstered by the generous contributions of federal employees through the annual workplace program called the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). You can help the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund by contributing to the CFC this fall and/or by alerting your pro-life family and friends to the fact that they can. Just look for the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund, agency #10542, in your CFC brochure listed alphabetically under the workplace federation Human Service Charities of America (HSCA). There are also state and private sector options available. (See the end of this article for more information.) The campaign activity generally spans from the first of September through October in federal venues such as the military and postal offices around the country. So you have time, but it is important that you do not miss the window of opportunity to help the Trust Fund help unborn children. The NRL Educational Trust Fund uses CFC proceeds to purchase educational materials. The Trust Fund also shares funds with its state affiliates so they can educate their communities. Last year, for example, Kim Lehman, president of Iowa Right to Life, wrote to say, “Thank you for the check from National Right to Life as part of the Combined Federal Campaign program.” She provided a list of ways Iowa works to educate its citizenry. Iowa RTL’s Trust Fund produced and displayed right to life educational posters and a state newsletter; funded an oratory contest, radio commercials, and speaking engagements; and assisted crisis pregnancy centers. Iowa’s educational efforts are just some of many examples of outstanding state and local use of educational funds made more readily available through programs such as the CFC. In addition to participating in the CFC, the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund is also helped by contributions through some United Way and private-sector campaigns as well as state employee campaigns in the following states: California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin. To donate through your state employee campaign, look for NRL Educational Trust Fund under HSCA’s sister federation called “Neighbor to Nation” (NTN). To give through a United Way or private-sector campaign, simply “write-in” National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund.
