NRL Convention to Feature Photographer of
Photo of Unborn Baby’s Hand Continues to Change
Hearts and Lives
One moment can change your life. That’s what Michael Clancy has discovered in the eight and a half years since he snapped the groundbreaking photo of an unborn baby clutching his doctor’s hand during fetal surgery. Clancy is now a fervent pro-lifer, spreading the message that unborn babies are precious human beings and deserve protection. He will be a featured speaker at the upcoming NRL Convention in Washington, D.C., July 3–5. “It was the earliest human interaction ever recorded,” Clancy told NRL News. “It proved that the child at 21 weeks in utero is a reactive human being.”
Planned
Parenthood Releases 2006–07 Annual Report Despite efforts to downplay abortion’s role in its lucrative business, Planned Parenthood has become responsible for nearly a quarter of all abortions performed in the United States. And while PPFA advertises itself as a non-profit, the latest annual report once again shows America’s top abortion chain setting records in revenues—over a billion dollars—as well as abortions—289,750. On page 1 of its 2006–07 report, PPFA identifies itself as “the nation’s leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate.” It characterizes its behavior as doing “more than any other organization in the United States to prevent unintended pregnancies and protect women’s health and safety.” Yet for 2006, PPFA notes that it performed 289,750 abortions at its clinics, a new record. If national figures for 2006 are similar to those for 2005, Planned Parenthood clinics will end up being responsible for 24% of all abortions in the U.S.—nearly one out of every four.

A
CRITICAL YEAR FOR PRO-LIFERS The dramatic events in one major party’s primary election fight may obscure the incredible dangers the pro-life cause faces in this election year. Behind the novelties of gender and skin color of the two remaining candidates in the Democratic primary battle there is still the same “old” fact: they and the entire leadership of the Democratic Party are firmly and enthusiastically wedded to the pro-abortion ideology. They thirst for the power to impose their “progressive” anti-life vision on this country. A sympathetic main stream press politely hides this fact. Instead there is a lot of empty rhetoric about “hope” and “change” and little about the radical policies that would emerge after the hoped-for election victory. NRL News Archive2008 2007 2006
