Pro-Life Teens Vow to Use Convention Knowledge to Make a Difference
BY Joleigh Little

Pro-life teenagers are the best! It's been said before, but it's worth repeating. Teens who are willing to give of their time and talents to advocate for the lives of the unborn and vulnerable are nothing short of amazing.

This year's National Teens for Life Convention, held in Nashville, only served to reinforce that reality. Young people from junior high to college age gathered for the 21st annual NTL Convention to learn about topics not normally on the radar of the average kid.

From stem cells and cloning to euthanasia, these kids took it all in. They made notes, they asked questions, and they listened with rapt attention--again, not always typical for their age group!

Even more importantly, they vowed to take what they learned home in order to make a difference in their schools and communities. And they are already working to make that difference.

Twelve-year-old Alex will be writing for her junior high school newspaper in the fall and is busy planning what to say in articles that touch on the life issues. She says kids her age are not too young to learn about the dangers of abortion and euthanasia, and that maybe if more of them knew the truth, more of them would stand up and fight against the death culture.

Tatiana is 18 and just heading off to college. She's been involved in Teens for Life since she was 14, and wasn't home from the convention for two days before she was already planning a large pro-life event for her community in the fall. She believes that education is the key to winning in the battle for life. And this isn't just a pipe dream. Last year Tatiana planned an event on the local college campus that brought in over 150 people to learn about the dangers of euthanasia.

These are just two examples of what is being done by pro-life teens around the nation, and from these (and many other)indicators it's safe to say that the future of the Movement is in capable and committed hands!
