launch of the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation on Capitol Hill in

and fluids for nearly two weeks. The Schindlers say the foundation is

citizens against care rationing, euthanasia and medical killing. |
Killing Babies,
Compassionately
The Netherlands follows in Germany’s footsteps.
By Wesley J. Smith
At last a high government official in Europe got up the nerve to chastise the
Dutch government for preparing to legalize infant euthanasia. Italy’s
Parliamentary Affairs minister, Carlo Giovanardi, said during a radio debate:
“Nazi legislation and Hitler’s ideas are reemerging in Europe via Dutch
euthanasia laws and the debate on how to kill ill children.”
Unsurprisingly, the Dutch,
ever prickly about international criticism of their peculiar institution, were
outraged. Giovanardi’s critique cut so deeply that even Dutch Prime Minister Jan
Peter Balkenende felt the need to respond, sniffing, “This [Giovanardi’s
assertion] is scandalous and unacceptable. This is not the way to get along in
Europe.”

Black Americans for
Life Speaks at Gathering of Religious Leaders
By Lara Bode
Black Americans for Life recently participated in a two-day Pastors for Life
conference coordinated by Greene Hollowell and hosted by the Mt. Gilead Full
Gospel Church of Richmond, Virginia, which drew over 400 people. About half
the attendees were African-Americans. The conference equipped pastors to
educate and to lead their congregations to stand strong against abortion,
euthanasia, infanticide, and assisted suicide.
The Honorable Geline
Williams, NRLC's chairman of the board and the Virginia director to NRLC, served
on the planning committee for the Pastors for Life conference. "It was a
marvelous program, bringing together a variety of people from different
denominations and races, to join together in support of protecting human life,"
Mrs. Williams said.
Day Gardner, national
director of Black Americans for Life, was one of the event's featured speakers.
"Too many Black ministers close their eyes to the deaths of Black children by
abortion," Ms. Gardner said. She urged pastors to talk openly about the
devastation of abortion and to reach out to care for post-abortive women.

PRO-ABORTION HYSTERIA
By Wanda Franz, Ph.D.
In recent months, the pro-abortion lobby and its fellow travelers in the
media have sounded loud alarms about abortion rights in the United States.
Let's not "turn back to the days of unsafe illegal abortions," they say. And
"women will die again" if Roe v. Wade were overturned, they darkly warn. "In
just six years … American women's rights moved perilously close to those in
much less-developed nations," writes Bonnie Erbe, a PBS TV host and
columnist for the Scripps Howard News Service (3/13/2006). Or take this
statement from the Philadelphia Daily News (3/22/2006): "So please don't say
that those who want to preserve Roe favor unlimited abortion. It just isn't
true." Did the editorialist cite any legal limits actually prohibiting the
right to have an abortion? No, and he or she couldn't.
Combine the legal weakness of the
Supreme Court's abortion decisions with a sense that the Court may be
changing its approach to abortion rights, add the realization that the
public is not pro-abortion, and it becomes clear why the pro-abortionists
are more alarmed than ever.
