JUST A FEW DAYS REMAINING

By the time you receive this edition of National Right to Life News, there will be only a week to 10 days left to order the Special January 22 Commemorative Issue. You must hurry!

You can find ordering details on page 7. Friends and family with computer access can go to www.nrlc.org and order NRL News there as well.

Over the past decade the special edition has come to be a mainstay for tens of thousands of NRL News readers. It is a direct pipeline to the best thinking on the challenges ahead and how readers can help the Movement accomplish its goals.

"2004: A Historic Juncture" is no hollow slogan. Issues of immense consequence are at stake, beginning with the attempt by an as yet unknown pro-abortion Democratic nominee to topple pro-life President George W. Bush. And we will be using the momentum generated by the passage of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act to rekindle other legislative initiatives.

For 31 years you have pushed against the pro-abortion orthodoxy, whittling its hold day by day. Many people, including me, believe that the passage of the ban on partial-birth abortions will act like a tripwire to ensnare pro-abortionists. That is why the pro-abortion hysteria that greeted its passage was not entirely synthetic.

On the one hand, the charge that the ban would prohibit other abortion techniques was wholly fabricated with materials drawn from their vivid imaginations. On the other hand, their fear that the American public is getting wise to abortion's inherent brutality, viciousness, and cruelty is right on the money.

The long, long debate over partial-birth abortions meant that Americans held a mirror up to their faces - - and did not like what they saw. That revulsion is fueling an ongoing re-evaluation.

We cannot allow our momentum on behalf of the children to dissipate even a little. Take a moment, please and go to page 7, to order lots and lots of additional copies of the NRL News Special January 22 Commemorative Issue.

There are very exciting times. We are on the move.
