Look for HSCA Agency #2844
NOW IS THE TIME FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES TO BOLSTER PRO-LIFE EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS
By Marie Hagan
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the workplace campaign for federal employees, has been launched for the year 2003. Pro-lifers are encouraged to take advantage of this easy, convenient way to help local pro-life organizations educate their communities about the humanity of the unborn child.
The CFC is a two-month-long workplace campaign for federal employees initiated by the Office of Personnel Management in the early 1980s. During this activity time, CFC chairpersons distribute brochures (a great number of which are on military bases and in post offices around the country), which list hundreds of charities from which employees can select.
Federal employees will find the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund (agency #2844) listed in their campaign brochures alphabetically under the federation called Human Service Charities of America (HSCA).
The NRL Educational Trust Fund has participated in the CFC and shares its proceeds with its state affiliate groups. Each year for over 20 years, local pro-lifers have called and written to express their deepest appreciation.
For example, Holly Gatling, executive director of South Carolina Citizens for Life, said, "CFC funds help pay for high-quality educational materials that show pregnant women a better life than abortion and that teach medically vulnerable people to protect themselves from the growing threat of euthanasia."
Oregon Right to Life Executive Director Gayle Atteberry recently told NRL News, "CFC funds are distributed to our chapters for their use in doing educational projects in cities throughout Oregon. Many of our county fair booths are made possible because of CFC funds."
STATE EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGNS
Pro-life educational projects also benefit from state employee campaigns. While not every state offers a workplace campaign, the following do and have included the NRL Educational Trust Fund.
They include Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey,
New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin, The District of Columbia also has an employee campaign.
In these campaigns, the NRL Trust Fund is listed under HSCA's parent federation called Neighbor to Nation.
Still another venue for workplace giving is private sector campaigns. Simply check with your company to see if it has one. Then all you need do is write in the name of the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund.
