"Women's Health after Abortion:

The Medical and Psychological Evidence"

The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund is pleased to announce that it still has available for purchase copies of the important book, Women's Health after Abortion: The Medical and Psychological Evidence. Authored by Elizabeth Ring-Cassidy and Ian Gentles, this book provides amble evidence of the psychological and physical costs of abortion. They have gleaned over 500 books and scientific papers on the short- and long-term effects of abortion, and Women's Health after Abortion: The Medical and Psychological Evidence is the fruit of their labors.

Anyone involved in counseling, teaching, or making public policy should have access to this important resource. Abortion advocates routinely claim that abortion is many times safer than childbirth, but they ignore evidence that abortion is associated with many negative health outcomes.

By now, for instance, most pro-lifers know that abortion is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer, particularly among certain subgroups of women. But a particular case of breast cancer, while it may have been related to an induced abortion, is not (and can not be) factored in as a complication of that abortion. The authors of Women's Health after Abortion: The Medical and Psychological Evidence examine in detail many areas that even pro-lifers may not be familiar with, such as increases in self-destructive behaviors like alcohol and drug abuse, and even suicide, among women who abort as opposed to women who carry their children to term. The book also examines chemical abortion methods and complications associated with these techniques, such as pain, bleeding, and failed abortion requiring surgical abortion in many cases.

Lobbyists and legislators promoting informed consent legislation, counselors who deal with pregnant women, teachers in health or biology departments, and anyone who frequently finds him or herself defending the pro-life position should have access to this research. The Trust Fund is offering this book, while supplies last, for $16.00 plus $3.95 for shipping. You can place orders by calling (202) 626-8829, faxing (202) 393-0745, or e-mailing education@nrlc.org.

Of course, if you don't mind the extra three cents postage, you can always send a check payable to the NRL Educational Trust Fund to 512 10th St., NW, Washington, DC 20004.
