Thank You So Very Much!
"Angels Watching Over Me"
By Jacki Ragan, Director
State Organizational Development Department
Words are not my calling. But even if I were a writer, nothing I could say could ever do justice to the magnificent efforts pro-lifers made these past months.
All those endless hours of work, all the times you would much rather have been doing something else but didn't resulted in an even more pro-life House of Representatives and a Senate no longer under the thumb of pro-abortion Democrat Tom Daschle. Believe me, our pro-life President George W. Bush knows what you did and appreciates it!
You worked and worked and then worked some more. How can I or anyone else possibly thank you enough? The consolation is that I know none of you expects thanks. Working for the babies is something you do because it is right!
Because of the countless hours put in by grassroots right to lifers, pro-life bills will be proposed, passed, and signed into law. Because of your faithfulness, the general public will be educated to the sheer horror of abortion. Because of your refusal to give in, women facing crisis pregnancies will learn there is a better way, and babies will live!
Over the past few weeks, our department has been working with grassroots volunteers. It is so very inspiring to see the young, middle-aged, and the older generation coming together to work on behalf of the babies.
In talking with some of the volunteers following one of our more recent projects, we heard many success stories. One told me, "I have never been able to get this community to volunteer and this time, people were calling me and asking to help! It was truly amazing!"
But one lady said it all in an e-mail: "I felt I had angels watching over me."
We want all of you who volunteered your time in so many different ways to know that you are genuinely appreciated. Know your efforts will help to make the difference. And because you are the kind of people that you are, we know that we can count on you again in the future.
Whether working to help educate the community, or working on pro-life legislation, or volunteering for the National Right to Life Political Action Committee, we know you worked and worked hard.
We know you took precious time from your families so that innocent unborn children might be given a chance to live. We know we couldn't do it without you. We know that working together as a team in every cubby hole in the country, we can and DO make a difference.
As the holiday season approaches and we take time to spend with our families and friends, remember that the right to life movement makes up its own type of family. We come together because we believe in what we are fighting for and because we know we are indeed making a difference.
So from the State Organizational Development Department who bugs you all year long to help with projects--thanks!
Take a break! You deserve it!
