We Need Your Help!

As you've read elsewhere in this edition, abortion played a pivotal role in the victories of pro-life senators-elect Jim Talent in Missouri, Norm Coleman in Minnesota, and Saxby Chambliss in Georgia, each of whom replaced a pro-abortion incumbent. We know that beyond a shadow of a doubt because Fox News asked voters in those states which one issue was most important in deciding whom to vote for. Abortion was cited by at least 14% of the voters.

In each case, the pro-life candidate swamped his pro-abortion opponent among those who based their vote on the abortion issue. Abortion was the margin of victory, pure and simple, in these three races. We strongly suspect these were hardly isolated examples, as the data discussed by NRLC Executive Director Dr. David O'Steen on page one strongly suggests.

Psst. I have a secret to tell you. There are tons of pro-lifers out there! Thanks to the outstanding work of NRL PAC and you, millions of voters were informed who was the pro-life candidate running for office. But this cannot be a one-shot deal.

What to do? Share with others the resource that you count on for impeccably accurate, comprehensive coverage: NRL News.

There are three vehicles you can use to get the news out to your family, friends, colleagues, fellow parishioners, and members of fraternal organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus. This edition of "the right to life newspaper of record" provides you with forms to order all three.

#1. On page 7 you'll find a detailed explanation of the Special 30th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade Commemorative Issue of National Right to Life News. Whether someone is new to the Movement or a battle-tested veteran, this collector's item is an invaluable overview of the original Roe decision and the most significant developments of the last three decades, as well as a very optimistic look at the future. Order today!

#2. On page 19, we're providing you with a source too infrequently utilized. Bulk subscriptions are the ultimate in spreading the word economically. For very little, you can order a number of papers (say, 25) and have them shipped to one location. You can then distribute them locally to your pro-life friends and members. Very cheap, but very effective.

#3. On page 6, you'll find a gift subscription form cued to the holidays. Please understand, NRL News is sent out to over 370,000 people. This is critically important information that needs to get out to millions of pro-lifers. We are the model of frugality, which means we don't have money to spare on an elaborate advertising budget. In fact, we rely almost exclusively on you to alert fellow pro-lifers to our existence by hopefully providing a gift subscription. They are only $10 each.

My goal is ambitious, I concede, but it's one we met years ago when I set the bar high: 300 gift subscriptions by the end of December. There is NO better time to give this gift than during the Christmas season.

There you have it in black and white. NRL News, we believe, is must reading. It is a one-stop source for information on everything from elections to legislation, from abortion alternatives to four-dimensional full-color sonograms, from book reviews to in-depth analyses of public opinion--and everything in between.

But to get this out information spread far and wide, we must have your help. Won't you please take time to be a part of this important pro-life outreach?

The address is listed in each ad - - NRL News, 512 10th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20004. For quicker results please call us at 202-662-8828.

These are very exciting days to be a pro-lifer. I know I can count on you to assure that pro-lifers everywhere know of the great news!

(If you wish additional copies of this election issue, call us immediately and we will send them out as inexpensively as possible.)
