HSCA Agency #2844
Help Enrich Educational Projects Through CFC, State, and Other Workplace Campaigns

By Marie Hagan

The NRL Educational Trust Fund is excited about fall workplace giving opportunities because each year they help generate tens of thousands of dollars which the Trust Fund is able to share with its state affiliates who use the proceeds to educate their communities.

Thanks to the generosity of federal, state, and private-sector employees who contribute to the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund through public and private workplace campaigns, pro-life educational efforts are enhanced and hearts and minds changed. Know that your generosity makes a huge difference in the fight to protect the unborn and the medically dependent elderly!

If you or someone you know works for the federal or state government, you have an opportunity this fall to contribute to the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), or a state employee campaign in one of the following 14 states (and the District of Columbia): California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. The time to take action is now! Already the CFC, the principal workplace campaign for federal employees, has kicked off its work at its 300+ campaigns on military bases and/or postal offices around the country. Note, please, that beginning and closing times are determined by each campaign headquarters. The activity spans two months, either August through October or October through December.

Here's how it works. During this period, federal workers are given a brochure by their CFC chair-person that lists hundreds of educational charities from which to select. This presents an excellent opportunity to enhance the educational efforts of the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund.

The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund will be listed under its federation, called HSCA (Human Service Charities of America) alongside its 25-word description. Our agency is #2844. The state employee campaigns listed above operate much the same way and at the same time of year.

In addition, the NRL Educational Trust Fund is included in a number of United Way campaigns and some private sector campaigns, most notably IBM's 2002 campaign (#OL5O8).

And your money is well spent. NRL's state affiliate groups have used their portion of the proceeds to purchase and distribute educational brochures, pamphlets, books, and videos; underwrite educational advertising; provide speakers, and be a presence at school and fair booth opportunities.

This fall, look under the federation HSCA in your workplace campaign brochure for the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund, agency #2844 (and #OL5O8 for IBM employees) to help educate Americans about the plight of the unborn, elderly, and disabled.

For over 20 years the Trust Fund has been an active participant in workplace-giving programs. With that kind of track record we can confidently assure you that funds from the CFC and state campaigns really bolster state and local educational projects. If you or someone you know has an opportunity to give through a federal or state employee campaign, please look for the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund (listed under HSCA, agency #2844) in your campaign brochure. The educational projects will make a difference for the unborn, elderly, and handicapped. Thanks!
