HSCA Agency #2844
You Can Make a Difference This Fall by Contributing Through Workplace Campaigns That Begin in August

By Marie Hagan

T
hanks to the generosity of federal, state, and private sector employees who contribute to the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund through public and private workplace campaigns, pro-life educational efforts are enhanced and hearts and minds changed. Workplace campaign funds that are donated are divided between the Educational Trust Fund and NRLC state affiliates. Your generosity makes a huge difference in the fight to protect the unborn and the medically dependent elderly!

The time to take action is now! At the end of August, the principal workplace campaign for federal employees, the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign), kicks off its 300+ campaigns on military bases and/or postal offices around the country.

Each campaign headquarters sets its own kick-off and closing dates with an activity span of two months. Some CFCs will start in August and end in October, while others will begin in October and run through December.

During this time, federal employees will have brochures to look through and from which to select the charity they want to contribute to.

The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund, for instance, will be listed under its federation, called HSCA (Human Service Charities of America) alongside its 25-word description. Our agency is #2844.

While the CFC operates on the federal level, many state governments also conduct employee campaigns, usually occurring in the fall as well. The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund will participate in the fall 2002 CFC campaign, and in the following state campaigns: California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The money that is generated through workplace campaigns by the NRL Educational Trust Fund is shared with its state affiliates. Some of the many educational projects afforded by workplace campaigns were exemplified by RTL Educational Foundation of Kentucky's Executive Director, Margie Montgomery, in a March 2002 letter.

She expressed her "deep appreciation for the check received from the Combined Federal Campaign fund." Last year, for instance, the RTL Educational Foundation of Kentucky conducted educational services which included speakers for schools and other organizations, and pro-life booths with numerous educational materials at state and county fairs.

Kentucky pro-lifers also used the resources for an annual oratory contest for junior and senior high school students, and a resource center that provides books, videos, and brochures for research papers, debates, and general information regarding abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia as well as pro-life media campaigns and billboards.

The Trust Fund has been an active participant in workplace- giving programs for 20 years. We can confidently assure you that funds from the CFC and state campaigns really bolster educational projects.
If you or someone you know has an opportunity to give through a federal or state employee campaign, please look for the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund (listed under HSCA, agency #2844) in your campaign brochure. The educational projects will make a difference for the unborn, elderly, and handicapped. Thanks!
