Human Service Charities of America #2844
OPPORTUNITY TO HELP THROUGH YOUR WORKPLACE CAMPAIGN CONTINUES INTO DECEMBER
By Marie Hagan
Last year the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund was able to share over $90,000 with its state and local affiliate groups' education funds due to the generosity of government, state, and private-sector employees. There is still time this year for you to help in any of three different giving campaigns.
And you should know that all workplace campaign funds received by NRL's affiliates go directly toward educational endeavors such as purchasing and distributing educational brochures, books, pamphlets, and videos; funding educational speaking engagements, seminars, and fairs; and underwriting educational radio and print advertisements.
The majority of workplace funds for the Trust Fund is generated through the first option - - the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). However, the Trust Fund also participates in 14 state campaigns at this time (California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin).
The third way you can help is through private-sector corporate campaigns. Fortunately, the Trust Fund is in too many companies to list here, but you should check with your employer to see if it has an employee campaign and whether the Trust Fund is in it. (In all workplace campaigns, one can "write-in" an organization if it is not listed.)
The CFC is a workplace campaign for federal employees that takes place in federal offices and on military bases around the country. Each CFC chairperson sets kickoff and closing dates that span two months every fall. While many begin in early September and end in late October, others begin later and go into December.
Most state campaigns have a similar time frame, but private-sector campaign times vary. So if you are a federal or state employee, now is the time to pledge your support for educational projects that help save the lives of the unborn, elderly, and handicapped.
If your corporation has a workplace campaign, simply check to find out the campaign schedule.
The handiest way to locate the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund in your workplace brochure is to first look up the federation Human Service Charities of America (HSCA), then look alphabetically. NRL's agency number is listed next to its name and 25-word description. Our agency number is #2844.
