OPPORTUNITY TO HELP NRLC BY
CONTRIBUTING THROUGH WORKPLACE CAMPAIGNS
By Marie Hagan
One important way you can help educate about the humanity of unborn children - - and therefore ultimately protect them - - is to contribute through your workplace campaign. These resources can be used by the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund and the education funds of NRLC's affiliates to help teach the American public the truth about the little ones.
If you are a federal government employee, the
opportunity is through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The activity of the
CFC occurs in the fall, primarily on military bases throughout the country.
Each CFC sets its own "kick-off" and closing dates. Most campaigns
start around September and last two months. Each has a campaign director who
sees that each employee receives a brochure listing hundreds of educational
organizations to select from, then contribute to. The National Right to Life
Educational Trust Fund is listed under the federation called Human Service
Charities of America (HSCA), agency #2844.
The NRL Educational Trust Fund also currently participates in a number of
state employee campaigns, to which state employees can contribute in the same
way as the CFC.
A third venue for workplace giving is through private-sector workplace
campaigns. Simply check at your workplace to see if it has an employee campaign.
Also, in all workplace campaigns, one can "write-in" an organization
if it is not listed.
Proceeds from workplace campaigns to the National Right to Life Educational
Trust Fund are shared with NRLC state affiliate group's' education funds. One
such distribution, for example, prompted the following reply from Georgia Right
to Life.
President Caryl F. Swift said, "Thank you for your generous support in preserving the sanctity of life. Your gift to Georgia Right to Life's education fund supports countless educational efforts to help protect the lives of our most vulnerable." All workplace campaign funds received by NRL's affiliates go directly toward educational endeavors such as purchasing and distributing educational brochures, books, pamphlets, and videos; funding educational speaking engagements, seminars, and fairs; and affording radio and print advertisements.
You can help protect the innocent by contributing to the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund this year in your workplace campaign. For the CFC, locate NRL in your campaign brochure under the federation HSCA, agency number 2844. For state and private- sector campaigns, NRL is listed under HSCA's parent organization called Share America, with the same agency number, 2844.
