Priests for Life Coordinates Ad Campaign
with Local Dioceses
By Kathleen Sweeney, Outreach Department
Fr.
Frank Pavone, director of Priests for Life, recently announced a new ad campaign
designed to reach out to women and men who are suffering because of a personal
abortion experience. The ads will utilize TV, radio, billboards, and print
media.
Four newly produced TV ads were recently premiered at National Right to Life's
Proudly Pro-Life Awards Dinner at which Fr. Pavone was honored for his pro-life
work through Priests for Life. The ads are designed to appeal to those who are
suffering from abortion and ended with the statement, "The doors of the
Church are open."
Priests for Life ads will be run in selected areas in coordination with existing
diocesan post-abortion programs such as Project Rachel. The coordination of the
ad campaign with diocesan programs will ensure maximum effectiveness of the ads
on a local level.
Fr. Pavone praised the coordination effort, stating that "Priests for Life
will continue to work in harmony with the goals of the bishops, both nationally
and at the diocesan level."
In joint similar press releases, Priests for Life and the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops' Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities praised the
work being done by all those who serve the church through post-abortion
ministry.
William Cardinal Keeler, chairman of the bishops' Committee for Pro-Life
Activities, after meeting with Fr. Pavone, expressed his gratitude and that of
the pro-life committee to Fr. Pavone and those who work with him. He also called
attention to the " enormous success of the Church's outreach to those
harmed by abortion." Cardinal Keeler also said that he and the pro-life
committee and staff "look forward to working more closely with Priests for
Life in the future."
