Fr. Pavone, Head of Priests for Life, Meets with Governor George W. Bush

Priests for Life is a national organization formed by Fr. Frank Pavone with the enthusiastic support and encouragement of the late John Cardinal O'Connor to help Catholic clergy, lay ministers, and local pro-life leaders learn how to best present and articulate Pope John Paul II's call to re-establish a "Culture of Life" in America.

After a May meeting with pro-life Texas Gov. George W. Bush, Fr. Pavone released this statement:

"I was happy to meet Mr. Bush and am grateful for his position on the right to life, which is a breath of fresh air for all of us who have suffered through the Clinton/Gore era."

Priests for Life (PFL) was started in 1991 and has grown to include five full-time priests who travel across the country to support and encourage their fellow priests in pro-life ministry. PFL provides training seminars; a variety of video, audio; and print materials; counseling for those who have been involved in abortion; and a network of support information through a regular newsletter and an Internet web site (www.priestsforlife.org).
