NRLC '99:
"One of the Most Important Things Your Chapter Can Do in 1999"
By Jacki Ragan
NRL Convention Director

E
ach year NRLC strives to ensure that its annual convention lives up to being THE educational event of the year. We plan three full days of educational, motivational, and "how-to" sessions that are just what you need to take back home, share with other pro-lifers, and carry the battle on for another year.

NRLC chapters are truly the backbone of the right to life movement. We want to dedicate NRLC '99 to you by planning special workshops that will provide you with the knowledge, examples, and background to help you best complete your work on behalf of the unborn. We hope to offer you ideas and suggestions that will save you time and frustration and will keep you from "reinventing the wheel," as well as help you to face the new challenges of 2000 and beyond.

NRLC '99 will be held June 24-25-26, 1999, in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Hyatt Regency. The convention theme for NRLC ' 99 is "Building a New Millennium for Life," and will address the challenges we are sure to face in the new millennium. (See ad, page 21.)

The convention will sponsor general sessions, a prayer breakfast, a banquet, dozens and dozens of workshop sessions, exhibits, special teens for life sessions, and special college sessions. It will truly have something for everyone.

Beyond all that there are thoughtful sessions devoted to fundraising; planning; volunteer recruitment and motivation; avoiding burnout; media relations; chapter activities; meeting management; newsletter development; computers; speaker development; outreach to minorities; churches, and youth; legislation; and much, much more.

We are encouraging all chapters to begin planning now to send at least one representative to attend NRLC '99. Imagine ... if every chapter in America actually sent at least one individual to attend NRLC '99....

If you begin planning now to do just this, we will do our very best to make certain that you will not be disappointed. It will help your chapter in many ways and we will work hard to make sure that your time will be well spent. You will be able to bring home a wealth of knowledge to put to work in your local community. Unborn babies across the country will reap the benefits.

We will be happy to work with you in any way possible to assist you in attending NRLC '99. But don't wait until May or June; start now. Contact a local church to see if it will assist your chapter in sending a representative to NRLC '99. Do whatever it takes, but make plans now to be there.

It is crucially important that you read each issue of NRL News to get up-to-date information on NRLC '99. This is one you don't want to be left out of. I look
forward to seeing you in June in Milwaukee.
