"Roe v. Wade: Not a Solution Then, Still a Tragedy Today"

NRLC '98 Just Around the Corner

By Dave Andrusko

To pro-lifers immersed in the challenges of daily life, seven weeks may seem like a long way off. But the fact is before you can blink it will be June 18 - - the kickoff for NRLC '98 and three memorable days of education and fellowship in beautiful Orlando, Florida.
The finest speakers, an incredibly gorgeous hotel, and the warm companionship of loads of pro-life friends from around the nation, are just three of the reasons you and your family need to register for the pro-life educational event of the year today! That and the chance to get the best possible flat rate before the May 24 cutoff date.
Convention coordinator Jacki Ragan told NRL News that NRLC is bringing together an all-star lineup of speakers at the same time it is keeping registration and hotel room costs to the absolute minimum.
"Convention '98 is one way we can say 'thank you' to the thousands of grassroots
pro-lifers who do the work that keeps our cause alive and growing," Ragan said. Putting on the annual convention is something "that National Right to Life is both pleased and honored to do."
Ragan said pro-lifers will particularly enjoy hearing from actor, author, and law professor Ben Stein, a committed pro-lifer who is as amusing as he is dedicated to the cause of unborn babies. Mr. Stein will speak at Saturday night's closing Banquet.
Two of the all-time convention favorites will also be making an appearance at the convention, whose theme is "Roe v. Wade: Not a Solution Then, Still a Tragedy Today." For years editorial cartoonists Chuck Asay and Steve Benson have made the case for life with candor, humor, and fearlessness. They will be speaking at the Thursday evening general session.
Noted speaker and author Peter Marshall has graciously agreed to be the main speaker at the Friday morning Prayer Breakfast. His books include, The Light and the Glory; From Sea to Shining Sea; and Sounding Forth the Trumpet.
Ragan said that even by an NRLC Convention's high standards, this year's June 18-20 gathering will be jam-packed with a rich assortment of educational fare from which to choose.
"In addition to the Banquet and Prayer Breakfast, attendees can select from among 54 workshops and four general sessions," she said. "Every year people tell me how much they learned not just from the wonderful speakers but by exchanging experiences and ideas with fellow pro-lifers. This year may top them all."
Indeed, name a topic and it will be covered. Everything from the latest update on partial-birth abortion to alternatives to abortion, how to find new volunteers, the beautiful adoption option, fetology and fetal pain, imparting pro-life values to young people, through decoding the language of death.
