ACTION REQUEST


As explained on page 9, the Senate is expected to vote after April 20 on the State Department authorization bill (HR 1757), which contains the crucial language sponsored by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) to cut off U.S. aid to organizations that campaign to legalize abortion in foreign nations (such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation). The bill would also cut off U.S. funding of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) because of that organization's participation in China's coercive population-control program.

Please contact the offices of your two U.S. Senators. Urge them to support HR 1757, the State Department authorization bill, in order to oppose U.S. funding for campaigns to remove legal protection for unborn children in Latin America, Africa, and elsewhere.
