Employee Workplace Giving
Thanks Received, Thanks Extended.

By Marie Hagan

"Thanks so much for your gift. We are using these funds to supply help to RTL chapters with Educational Booths and literature at state fairs as well as to maintain our office as a resource center." So wrote Earl Dodge, treasurer of RTL Education Fund of Colorado, in gratitude for his state's share of workplace giving campaign funds distributed by the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund.

Thanks to the generous help of people like you who contribute through workplace employee giving campaigns, the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund has been able to further educate on life issues. Working in conjunction with NRLC state affiliates, the Trust Fund has shared the proceeds so that affiliates also can directly educate their communities to the realities of abortion and euthanasia.

These workplace giving programs, which reach their peak right about now, include the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), state employee, private sector, and some United Way campaigns. (See lists at the end of this article.) You cannot know how valuable your assistance has been.

Margie Montgomery, executive director of Kentucky RTL, was another to express appreciation for the educational work made possible by her state's share of the proceeds. She wrote, "RTL Educational Foundation of Kentucky, Inc. benefits from CFC by using the funds to purchase new and current educational materials including books, videos, and brochures for our Resource Center. The funds also enable us to assist our chapters throughout the state with funding for billboards, newspaper and radio ads, radio programs and providing materials for county fairs and other [educational] public gatherings."

Many of you are already familiar with the CFC. The NRL Educational Trust Fund has been a participant in this federal government-operated workplace campaign since it began in 1982.

Others are now learning about newer charity venues, such as the many states that offer employee campaigns, and the continuously growing list of private sector campaigns. The NRL Educational Trust Fund has applied and been accepted to participate in all of these workplace campaigns with the assistance of America's Charities, an umbrella federation.

And the time to give is now! The activity period for workplace employee giving is only two months each fall. To make a contribution through your federal, state, or private sector workplace campaign, look for the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund, agency #0447, under the federation America's Charities in your workplace campaign brochure.

And it's very important to know that if the Trust Fund is not listed, you can simply write it in. Again, the name is the NRL Educational Trust Fund, agency #0447.

The NRL Educational Trust Fund wishes to express its sincerest thanks to those who contribute through workplace giving campaigns. Your continued support is essential in ensuring that the education needed to help protect the lives of the unborn, elderly, and handicapped is made available.
