National Right to Life Endorses Sen. Thad Cochran for Re-Election

National Right to Life: Voters Should Return Cochran to U.S. Senate
Senator Thad Cochran Endorsed for Re-election

WASHINGTON – The National Right to Life Committee, the nation’s major pro-life organization, today endorsed U.S. Senator Thad Cochran for re-election.

”During his service in the U.S. Senate, Senator Cochran has supported major pro-life laws including the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which punishes those who injure or kill unborn children while committing federal crimes,” said David O’Steen, National Right to Life executive director. “He is currently co-sponsoring the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a groundbreaking bill to prevent abortion nationwide in the fifth month and later, when the unborn child is capable of experiencing excruciating pain during the abortion.”

Cochran also voted against enactment of the Obama health care law – a law that created a national program of massive federal subsidies for insurance plans that cover abortion, and imposes rationing of lifesaving medical care.

“National Right to Life believes that all voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should vote to return Senator Cochran to the Senate, so that he can continue to work to advance vital pro-life public policies,” said National Right to Life President Carol Tobias.

Involved in every election since Ronald Reagan’s election to the presidency, National Right to Life Political Action Committee (NRL PAC) was formed in 1979 as the political arm of National Right to Life. Founded in 1968, National Right to Life, the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. Recognized as the flagship of the pro-life movement, NRLC works through legislation and education to protect innocent human life from abortion, infanticide, assisted suicide and euthanasia.
