Dear Friend of Life,
Pro-life Americans have been truly
heroic throughout 2009. Many of you
have stood tall for the unborn,
calling and writing your senators
and representatives repeatedly to
get abortion and rationing out of
the health care reform bills. And
it worked when we scored a big
victory in the House. The House
overwhelmingly passed the
Stupak-Pitts Amendment to bar
abortion funding, and it couldn't
have happened without you!
The National Right to Life staff
has worked countless hours to flush
out pro-abortion strategies, educate
the media, and lobby Congress to
prevent the biggest expansion of
abortion in decades. And we're not
done! The House version and the
pro-abortion Senate version of the
health care reform bill still have
to be merged, and that provides
another opportunity for us to push
the pro-life Stupak-Pitts language
and save lives! No American
should have to participate in the
funding of abortion, and if we're
successful, no one will!
But the fight this past year has
left National Right to Life with
tremendous challenges. We had to
expend every available resource to
try to avert this tragedy, given the
number of lives that would be lost.
But it means we are desperately
short of funds at year-end and the
fight over health care reform is now
entering its most critical final
phase.
You can help
by giving your most generous
possible gift to the National Right
to Life Committee at year's end.
National Right to Life will
immediately put your donation to
work to intensify our fight to get
the pro-life Stupak-Pitts language
into any health care bill that
emerges from House-Senate
negotiations, and to defeat any
health care reform bill that does
not contain adequate protections
against pro-abortion mandates and
subsidies for abortion.
