| Sponsoring State Requirements 1. The contest will be held June 30th, 2012 in Crystal City, Virginia in conjunction with the National Right to Life Convention. 2. Contestants must be registered for both: a. the Oratory Contest, via email to michellelfischbach@yahoo.com or US Mail to Michelle Fischbach, 416 Burr St. Paynesville, MN 56362, and b. the NRLC Convention, (Registration information available at www.NRLC.org, under the “Special Events” tab. There is also hotel information available. 2. Contestants must be registered two weeks prior to the contest. 3. Please include a copy of the student's speech with the following information for registration; Contestant name, Parent's names, full mailing address, email address, contestant date of birth and grade level and your name, organization, and the state the contestant is representing. 4. Please consider
sending the contestant to the entire convention. 5. Contestants will receive an information packet several weeks before the contest that will provide information regarding the details of the contest. 6. The contest will begin in the morning and take most of the day on the 30th. There are generally several rounds in the contest and the student may present his/her speech several times during the day. The contest usually ends about 5:00 pm. 7. The winner is asked to present his/her speech at the convention closing banquet that evening. There is also a reception Friday night, the 29th, before the contest. The reception is optional. 8. National contest prizes are: 1st place - $1,000, 2nd place - $750, 3rd place - $500 and 4th place - $250. 9. The packet is being sent electronically. We are able to provide a paper copy if requested.
