Let's Turn This Against PPFA
-- Part Three of Three You
could take the photo (and caption) a lot of different ways. My guess is that
Planned Parenthood might not be happy. Or, come to think of it, they are
probably pleased as punch.
The headline on the Rocky Mountain
News story is "Planned Parenthood gains from Palin e-mail campaign." The
caption that goes along with the accompany photo is, "Katie Groke Ellis,
Action Fund Representative for Planned Parenthood of the Rockies, laughs
while discussing the tens of thousands of responses to a mass e-mail asking
people to stop complaining about Sarah Palin's policies and send Planned
Parenthood a $10 donation in Palin's name."
There you have it in a nutshell.
Somebody (PPFA insists it is not them) started an email campaign, advising
people, "Instead of (actually, in addition to) all of us all sending more
e-mails about how absolutely horrible she is, let's all make a donation to
Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin's name."
Ellis, field manager for the Planned Parenthood of the Rockies Action Fund,
predicted "that the five-state chapter of the group alone could draw
$100,000 in donations," according to Rocky Mountain News reporter Ed
Sealover.
And then the aren't-we-cute-part.
"Planned Parenthood sends a
handwritten thank-you card to the donor. If a donation is made in someone's
name, he or she gets one, too," Sealover writes.
"In this case, the Palin cards will go
to Republican presidential nominee John McCain's national headquarters."
Well, they loathe pro-life Gov. Sarah
Palin. We love her. I would strongly urge you to show your support for
pro-life Sen. John McCain's running mate by going to
http://www.nrlc.org/donations.htm and make a generous donation to
National Right to Life in her name.
