Good evening, and thanks for taking
time to read Today's News & Views. Part Two
catches you up on all things political. In Part
Three Jonathan Rogers places the Right to Life Movement in its
historical context. Part Four affords you
the opportunity to help air NRL Educational ads on the radio. Over at
National Right to Life News Today (www.nationalrighttolifenews.org),
Wesley Smith denounces the pro-abortion attacks on CPCs. Good news from
Arizona, where at last a pro-life law is going to go into effect Monday,
after more than a decade of delays! And I write about President Obama's
appearance on "The Daily Show." Please send your comments on Today's News &

Literally, moments before I sat down
to write this blog entry, an old friend emailed me to say, "Just wanted to
check in and see how you are doing as the big day approaches on Tuesday."
Yes, indeed, November 2 IS a big
day--for you, for me, and, most of all, for the cause for which we have
devoted large chunks of our lives.
Not surprisingly, a lot of what we
wrote about this week revolved around what may happen four days from today.
I will offer my daily summary of all things political in Part Two but the
operative thought is simply this: Pro-abortion Democrats are plummeting to
new depths.
Under the headline, "Democratic
Closing Argument: Personal Attacks," ABC's Jonathan Karl wrote last night,
"As you watch this year's ads -- and I've been watching all too many lately
-- you'll notice a striking difference between Democratic and Republican
attack ads: Democrats are attacking over personal issues, Republicans are
attacking over policy."
It's ugly, but it will get even
uglier.
With respect to the next 72 hours,
perhaps the most important story we ran dealt with NRL's Educational Radio
ad (http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv102810part2.html).
You and I know that ObamaCare is saturated with abortion-promoting and
rationing- guaranteeing provisions, but many Americans do not. Please go to
this page and send what you can.
In addition to all the political
coverage, among my favorites is a blog I wrote about an article Prof. John
Finnis produced that was adapted from his debate with Profs. Peter Singer
and Margaret Little. (His article can be found at
www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2010/10/1849.)
Even those of us who've been around
the block several thousand times may not know how radically anti-life Singer
is (he appears to have aged badly, in that respect), or how cleverly
academicians like Little can justify the unjustifiable. You can read my take
on this at
http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv102610part3.html.
To be honest I don't get a lot of
response from pro-abortionists, even though I know they read both TN&V and
National Right to Life News Today. But when I wrote " Pro-Abortionists
Angered by Growing Public Presence of Pro-Life African Americans," I
received a scorcher of a response (http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/ProLifeAfricanAmericans.html).
They simply don't want to hear that the "beneficiaries" of abortion on
demand are raising their voices in opposition.
