The Pro-Life Week in Review
Part Two of Four

By Dave Andrusko

It's hard to do justice, even in a summary form, to all that we've written about this week. But that's good, because it means our Movement is on the offensive.

· Given how many posts we've devoted to the November 2 elections, I might begin the "Pro-Life Week in Review" with a reminder that we are only 18 days away. In order to be educated and to do your part, have you gone to http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Sept10/nv091710part2.html to see whether your state has early voting? Have you read Jonathan Rogers important "Pro-Lifers: Get Out the Vote" at http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/GetOuttheVote.html? Or "Good News Impels Pro-Lifers to Work Harder" at http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/WorkHarder.html? And especially have you read "Abortion Remains Important in 2010 Elections," at http://stoptheabortionagenda.com/2010/10/12/abortion-remains-important-in-2010-elections. If that isn't enough, don't forget "Electorate Wises Up on Obama," at http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv101410.html.

· Dr. Randall K. O'Bannon gave us the benefit of his great expertise on RU486 with a two-part series detailing the latest two deaths associated with this abortifacient. You can read them (and then pass them on) at http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv101210part2.html and http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv101410part2.html.

· As the elections draw near, candidates are doing their best to stifle your First Amendment free speech rights. To take just one example, there is the suit filed by Rep. Steve Driehaus against a pro-life PAC found at http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv101310part3.html. But this attempt to intimidate pro-lifers extends to the saintly work of CPCs. The New York City Council has joined in the war against CPCs. You can read about this at http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/WarAgainstCPCs.html.

· We've also written about the first human trials using embryonic stem cells. This is very, very questionable, on any number of grounds. See http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/GeronExperiments.html, http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/CommentaryonESCR.html, and http://www.nrlc.org/NewsToday/GettingtotheTruth.html.

· Finally, as I am about to post this, pro-abortionists have not challenged Nebraska's historic "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act." The legislation is a major pro-life victory. See http://www.nrlc.org/News_and_Views/Oct10/nv101210.html.
