A Few Thoughts the Day Before Thanksgiving
Part One of Three

By Dave Andrusko

Editor's note. Part Two is a wonderful explanation of what PPFA's corporate tax form tells us about this $1 billion "non-profit." Part Three is Wesley Smith at his best. Over at National Right to Life News Today (www.nationalrighttolifenews.org), we discuss "Human Rights and the Unborn" and alert you to the importance of ordering the Special January 22 Commemorative Edition of National Right to Life News. Good evening and thanks for all you are doing for unborn babies and the medically dependent. Today is the final Today's News & Views and National Right to Life News Today for the week. Let me wish you and yours a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving.

There is a lot to digest the day before this family festival, so let me get to it.

Left to right: Leo LaLonde, president of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, newly-elected Rep. Chip Cravaack, and
Scott Fischbach, executive director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life. Cravaack defeated long-time
incumbent Jim Oberstar.

Judging by the deluge of emails I've received, pro-lifers fully understand that no amount of media mis-reporting can minimized the very important role abortion, abortion funding (see ObamaCare), and ObamaCare's clear and present rationing danger played in turning the political universe upside down.
And it just keeps on coming. In the last couple of days, two more pro-life Republicans prevailed over pro-abortion Democrats: Ann Marie Buerkle (New York 25) and Blake Farenthold (Texas-27). The enormity of the collapse of the pro-abortion House Democratic majority would be difficult to overstate.

As we wrote many, many times, the mid-terms elections WERE a referendum on pro-abortion President Barack Obama. Clearly the public is coming to understand that he is in over his head.

When I wrote months and months ago that it was not out of the realm of possibility for his approval ratings to drop to the low 40s, even I didn't think that the latest Zogby poll would find that his approval rating had dipped below 40 for the first time--39%. Barely two months ago Obama stood at 49% approval.

Among the ominous numbers Zogby finds is that Obama is losing support even among Democrats ( a modest drop from 78% to 72%), young people (down to 42%), and is hemorrhaging support among Independents (plunging to 39%).

We will hear lots and lots and lots about how in the face of his rapidly eroding support that Obama will race to the middle. Don't believe that nonsense for one second, especially on abortion in general, ObamaCare in particular.
