Facebook,
Anyone?
Part Two of Three
By Dave Andrusko
Chances are
that almost everyone reading
TN&V is not merely minimally
computer-savvy but possessing
well up the IT food chain
abilities. One of those
capabilities/capacities is
extensive use of Social
Networking, which we have
written about a lot in this
space and in National Right
to Life News.
(Which reminds
me, please don't forget to order
your extra copies of NRL
News' Special January 2010
Commemorative
Edition--"Pro-Abortion President
Barack Obama and Pro-Lifers: One
Year Later." Ordering
information is online at
http://nrlc.org/news/Jan222010.pdf.)
Why
am I mentioning this today? I
get occasional emails from
people saying they just ran
across an edition of Today's
News & Views posted on Facebook.
I know, in fact, that there are
many, many others who
haven't taken the time to write,
with similar stories to tell.
But today I
received several cheerful
correspondences, informing me
that they had just discovered
TN&V. Far more important, of
course, is that in encountering
TN&V they will learn about
National Right to Life and how
they can plug in to the largest
single-issue pro-life
organization in the world.
I have written
the following three sentences
about Social Networking and TN&V
many times, but I do again
today. Why? Because every time I
do I know that the message zips
around cyberspace with
wonderfully--sometimes
spectacularly--productive
results. Those three sentences
are….

When
you read this, or any
other edition, if you
like it, go to NRLC's
homepage:
www.nrlc.org.
At the
top, under "Stay
Informed," you'll find
"Today's News & Views."
Once you click that on,
you can share TN&V with
any of your social
networking outlets, from
AIM Share to something
called YouMob. |
I'm relatively
new to all this, so I am still
stunned by (a) the responses
Facebook entries can generate,
and (b) the staggering number of
"friends" that people can have.
The impact is as incredible as
the math is simple.
If you have,
say, 200 friends and you post
TN&V on your wall, the
multiplier effect of exposing
TN&V to all these individuals is
nothing short of amazing. You
get the point, I'm sure.
Drop me a line
when you post an edition of
TN&V, won't you? The address is
daveandrusko@gmail.com.
Thank you!
