Pro-Lifers March on
International Day for Life
By Dave Andrusko
I apologize for neglecting a
story I had meant to write yesterday. Over the weekend, there
were encouraging events in Europe that should be highlighted.
The Christian Post reported
that over 100,000 people gathered in central Madrid to protest
against laws that would ‘liberalize’ abortion laws in Spain. The
march was in observance of International Day for Life, an annual
event that takes place on March 25. The Demonstrations took
place not just in Madrid, the capital of Spain, but also in over
80 other cities nationwide.
The Post writes that
protestors marched under the slogan “Yes to Life.” A manifesto
read during the gathering urged the "abolition of all permissive
abortion laws and the withdrawal of all the provisions making it
easier for euthanasia and the manipulation of human embryos.”
“Recently in Spain, a new law
came into force that allows abortion in the first 14 weeks of
pregnancy,” wrote Andrea Marcela Madambashi. “It also legalized
abortion up until the 22nd week of pregnancy in the cases of
rape, fetal abnormality, or when the mother’s physical or mental
health are at risk.” According to the story, there is no limit
in cases where the unborn is “suffering from a serious or
incurable illness certified by a medical committee.”
Alicia Latorre, the secretary
of the Federation of Pro-Life Associations, said, "The culture
of death will not have the last word.”
The Prague Daily Monitor
reports that about a thousand people marched through Prague, the
capital of the Czech Republic on Saturday. Prague Archbishop
Dominik Duka celebrated a mass for the unborn at St Giles Church
in the city's historical centre prior to the 11th March for
Life. I need your
