If you watch the way pro-abortionists succeed at fending off even the most commonsensical pro-life legislation, you quickly learn that they have as many techniques as there are seconds in a day. But at the top of their list of stratagems is to turn protective measures into vile assaults on women. They are able to do this because most people, including many pro-lifers, don’t know all the facts.

Let me offer one of a half-dozen different examples. I do so, not because it is unusual, but because it is, even by pro-abortion less-than-lofty standards, amazingly cynical.

There are various legislative proposals to make sonograms available to women contemplating abortions. For many, many years, abortionists were able to keep it a secret that most/almost all of them already used ultrasounds. For what purpose? To determine how old the baby was and also to get a better “fix” on the victim whom they were about to suction out or rip apart.

When that news finally emerged, it was difficult to adhere to the old pro-abortion party line: that pro-lifers were “demanding” something out of the ordinary—even insisting on bad medicine—when they proposed laws to make sonograms available to women about to abort. What to do?

First, continue to act as if abortion clinics don’t already use sonograms. But do that lie one better [actually one worse]. Rage and fume that pro-lifers are demanding an invasive, insulting, inhumane procedure: a sonogram scan “in the woman’s uterus.”

But the truth is that proposals to make sonograms available to abortion-vulnerable women are ADDING nothing—as the Abortion Lobby knows perfectly well—to what is already taking place.

Not only do abortionists already routinely employ sonograms, the norm is to use what is called a vaginal transducer (as opposed to an external transducer). Common sense would tell you that an internal reading would be more accurate than an external one. The result is the abortionist gets a more accurate gauge of the baby’s age, which allows him to know which abortion “procedure” to use.

Pro-abortionists know this. Pro-abortionists know the general public doesn’t know that. Pro-abortionist know that most legislators don’t know this.

And they know they can make it sound like 'rape by instrumentation' if they play their cards right.
