Start NRLC 2010 with The Association for Interdisciplinary Research in
Values and Social Change

Part Two of Three

By Dave Andrusko

Dr. Wanda Franz, president, Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and
Social Change

It's almost like clockwork. As we approach the first week in April, attention begins to shift to the pro-life educational event of the year: NRLC's annual convention, which takes place this year in Pittsburgh, June 24-26. (For full details about the convention , see Part One and http://stoptheabortionagenda.com/convention.)

In this edition of TN&V I want to focus on a diamond in the rough: The annual meeting of the Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change. Beginning at 8:00 pm June 23, some of the finest pro-life researchers and educators will deliver a series of papers on very important subjects.

If you are not familiar with the group, the Association for Interdisciplinary Research in Values and Social Change is a professional organization which offers a forum to exchange ideas of scientific and social science disciplines. The Association is a network of pro-life professionals who encourage research and academic publication and the development of textbooks and curricula for high schools and colleges.

You can access past Association bulletins at www.abortionresearch.us. This is very much worth your time. If you can come on Wednesday, June 23, you will be given the opportunity to hear:

Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio
Abortion and Mental Health: Consolidating and Solidifying the Evidence with Results of a Meta-Analysis

Michael New, Ph.D., Assistant Professor
University of Alabama
The Effects of Pro-Life Legislation on State Statistics: The Impact of the Pennsylvania Abortion Control Act

Catherine T. Coyle, R.N., Ph.D.
Alliance for Post-Abortion Research & Training Perceptions of Preabortion Counseling Inadequacy and Decision Conflict as predictors of Subsequent Relationship Problems and Psychological Stress in Men and Women

The M.C. for the evening is the Association's president, Wanda Franz, Ph.D. The program is free and refreshments will be served at 10:00 p.m.
