Why should you bother to call your member of the House of Representatives yet again to protest the Senate's health care bill on which the House is close to acting? After all, those who criticize NRLC insist our concern about HR 3590 is much ado about nothing.

But, in fact, pro-life resistance is much to do about something of major consequence, as we shall see momentarily.

No pro-lifer will be fooled by the confident assurances uttered by President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: Whether the bill passes is very much still up in the air. They are counting on opponents to give up at the eleventh hour.

Each day this week I've directed you to www.capwiz.com/nrlc/callalert/index.tt?alertid=14772666&type=CO --NRLC's Condition Red/Action Alert. I hope you've gone through the entire Alert (and shared it with others), especially the part that reads,

"When all of the pro-abortion provisions are considered in total, the Senate bill is the most pro-abortion single piece of legislation that has ever come to the House floor for a vote, since Roe v. Wade. Any House member who votes for the Senate health bill is casting a career-defining pro-abortion vote. A House member who votes for the Senate bill would forfeit a plausible claim to pro-life credentials. No House member who votes for the Senate bill will be regarded, in the future, as having a record against federal funding of abortion."
