Turning Truth on its Head as
Showdown for Health Care
"Reform" Looms Near
Part One of Three

Part Two introduces you

Part Three brings you to

on Nebraska's Abortion Pain

As the eleventh hour on health
care "reform" approaches, the
best advice I can give anyone is
to go to
http://nrlactioncenter.com.
There you get a full run down
and instructions how to convey
your opinions quickly and
thoughtfully.
Let me quote one of the
paragraphs in the alert:
Now, the final showdown is near.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has
vowed, "We will pass a bill."
She has expressed great
annoyance with pro-life
resistance to the bill,
declaring, "I will not have it
turned into a debate on
(abortion)." On March 11, House
Democratic leaders rejected out
of hand any proposal to allow
the House to add pro-life
language to the Senate bill,
saying that they "will try to
pass the sweeping legislation
without the support of ardent
anti-abortion Democrats." The
White House and the House
Democratic leadership has also
stepped up pressure on pro-life
House Democrats to support the
Senate bill.
I would just add two quick
thoughts. Without rehearsing all
that has taken place in the last
six months (and it's a LONG
list), suffice it to say that
the pro-abortion leadership of
the House and Senate has offered
both carrot and the stick.
Sometimes the "carrot" takes the
form of, to put it discretely,
inducements to accept the
abortion-ridden bill the Senate
passed last December. Other
times it takes the form of
insisting that pro-lifers have
deluded themselves into thinking
the House bill, which includes
the Stupak-Pitts amendment,
means the bill was more
pro-life. David Gibson, for
example, writing in Politics
Daily, is so bold as to contend
(as the headline puts it) that
"The Senate Bill Funds
Abortions? Nope, and It's More
Pro-Life Than the House
Version."
I would just say that if you
believe that, you will believe
anything. But if you are Pelosi
and Reid and President Obama
trying to persuade balky House
Democrats to vote for the Senate
bill, it is one more add-on to a
list of pseudo-justifications.
The "stick"? We can only imagine
how much pressure is being
placed on Democrats, especially
pro-life Democrats. That is why
it is imperative that you go to
http://nrlactioncenter.com
and from there send a message to
your member of the House and
urge him or her to vote against
the health care bill.
Those who have had the courage
to oppose this abomination of a
health care "reform" bill need
to know you are watching.
Good luck, and don't wait to
take action. There most likely
will be a vote next week.
