I Need Your Help!
Part Three of Three
I need your help! I want the
same opportunities that you have
for ‘life, liberty, and the
pursuit of happiness,’ but my
mom is being counseled to cut my
life short. She does not
understand that I am a human
being and that I deserve a
chance to live my life.
People
are saying that I am not a human
being because I have too many
needs. But my older brother is
one year old and he has to be
helped to eat food and to stay
clean and healthy. No one says
my mother should kill him. My
grandmother is ill and needs
medical assistance. She can not
feed herself or walk without
aid.
No one says my grandmother
should be killed. My needs are
not very much different from
theirs, so why should I be
killed?
My mother worries that I might
be born with a disability. Does
that mean I can not live my life
like a normal human being? Helen
Keller was blind and deaf, but
she did not let that make her
life worse. If I do have a
disability it will not make my
life worse, it will only make my
life different. Normal is
different for everybody.
My mom is also considering
abortion because she can not
afford another child. If she can
not afford to have me, I think
adoption would be a good thing
for me and her. A family that
loves me and cares for me will
raise me well. There are a lot
of families who want children,
but are unable to have them.
Therefore, there are many
families that would be willing
to adopt me. There are a lot of
families that have adopted
children and treat them like
their own children.
In addition, I, like all people,
have an immortal soul. God wants
all of us to be saints in heaven
with Him. It is not fair that so
many people do not get a chance
to get to heaven.
I know it is not easy for my mom
to have another child and to
take care of me, but I think I
can contribute a lot to the
world. I could become a doctor
and find a cure for a disease, I
could become a firefighter and
save many lives, or I could
become a teacher and help
children to become as smart
person as they can be.
Please gather up enough courage
to defend me, and all of the
other unborn like me.
