We are rapidly approaching that go/no
go stage. Either you're making plans to attend NRL's spectacular convention
July 3-5 or it'll likely be too late to make it happen. Let me offer you a
few reasons why you must come to Crystal City, Virginia, a stone's throw
from our nation's capital.
While there are workshops galore, the
kind that you won't want to miss, this year's convention is just stocked
with an array of intellectual, political, and artistic talent that alone
makes the trip worthwhile.
For example, look how the "Changing
America...One Heart At a Time" begins. Former Senator and presidential
candidate Fred Thompson will address pro-lifers from around the nation at
the Opening General Session. That night photojournalist Michael Clancy will
tells us the real story behind "The Hand of Hope," the incredible shot he
took of "Baby Samuel."
The Friday morning Prayer Breakfast
brings back two friends, Kay and Charles James, a pro-life husband and wife
team who are among the most popular speakers in the history of the
convention. Kay once worked for National Right to Life and has had an
illustrious career in government and the private sector. Charles, likewise,
has a long and distinguished career in and out of government.
Karl Rove, the architect behind
President Bush's winning presidential campaigns, will be the featured
speaker at an old fashioned political rally that immediately follows. Later
that evening--a free night for attendees--many of us will take the subway to
the Mall to watch the spectacular 4th of July ceremonies.
Saturday morning begins with an
in-depth look at "Impending Health Care Reform & the Renewed Threat of
Health Care Rationing and Abortion Funding." Two genuine experts--NRLC
Executive Director David N. O'Steen, Ph.D, and Burke Balch, NRLC's director
of the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics--will be the featured
speakers.
And the convention could not possibly
have a more uplifting conclusion than the closing Banquet speaker, the Rev.
Richard John Neuhaus. Editor in chief of the influential magazine "First
Things," Fr. Neuhaus is an inspired speaker whose breadth and depth of
knowledge is an encouragement to us all.
Please don't wait another day. Special
hotel rates extend through June 9. Go to
