The Battle is Joined Over
ObamaCare
Part One of Four
By Dave Andrusko
Good evening and thanks
for being part of the discussion and for passing these posts
along to friends and family. Part
Two and Three today explain
carefully why NRLC is leading the charge to repeal ObamaCare.
Part Four is good news about
our first 2011 win in the state legislatures. Over at National
Right to Life News Today (www.nationalrighttolifenews.org),
we real NARAL's lament over the new pro-life Speaker of the
House, John Boehner. Newsbusters did a very nice job of showing
how biased at least some Associated Press accounts have been
against attempts to repeal and replace ObamaCare. Good stuff!

Well, it didn't take long,
nor should it have. With Republicans now in control of the
House, the debate over ObamaCare has been joined.
House Republicans continue
to reiterate that they are serious about repealing ObamaCare.
Democrats, who lost bushels full of races because of the
public's opposition to this "reform," apparently remain
convinced they can spin repeal attempts to their advantage.
Part Two today talks more
specifically about why NRLC so firmly believes ObamaCare must be
repealed. Briefly, the law "contains multiple provisions
authorizing federal subsidies for abortion, and additional
provisions on which future abortion-expanding regulatory
mandates may be based," NRLC explained in its letter to Members
of Congress. In addition, the law "contains multiple provisions
that will, if fully implemented, result in government-imposed
rationing of lifesaving medical care."
Part Three concisely
explains what will happen if ObamaCare is not repealed. Please
take time to read both parts.
Newly-elected House
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) appeared on a number of
television shows this morning and (according to POLITICO) "said
he is determined to keep repeal of the law in the national
spotlight and hold a House vote on the measure next week….
Appearing on CBS's "The
Early Show," Cantor said flatly, "Most Americans don't like the
health care bill." Surveys strongly back up Cantor's assertion.
And it's not only that
Rasmussen Reports has twice found 60% of likely voters saying
they support repeal versus 36% saying they oppose repeal. (Since
ObamaCare was passed last March, support for repeal has been no
lower than 53% and as high as 63%.) It's that (as of December
27), the results "also marked the first time a majority of
voters believe the measure is likely to be repealed."
