Second Planned Parenthood
Clinic Comes Under Scrutiny Following Live Action Video
Part One of Three
By Dave Andrusko
Good evening and thanks
for being part of the discussion. Part Two reminds us that a
temporary setback in the Senate on ObamaCare is just
that--temporary.
Part Three
celebrates the invaluable contribution of Lutherans for Life .
Over at National Right to Life News Today (www.nationalrighttolifenews.org),
I begin the first of a long series of excerpts from the report
of the Philadelphia Grand Jury that investigated abortionist
Kermit Gosnell. Mary Spaulding Balch posts an update on the
status of pro-life state legislation. Professor Michael New was
kind enough to allow us to reprint his analysis of a deeply
flawed study! To do the best job possible I need your feedback
on both Today's News & Views and National Right to Life News
Today. Please send your comments to

When I read about and then
watched the latest video--in this case of a Planned Parenthood
clinic in Richmond, Virginia--my first thought was, "Second
verse, same as the first." The first verse being Planned
Parenthood of Central New Jersey.
Once again, you see a
video, posted by the California-based pro-life group Live
Action, in which a couple poses as a pimp and a prostitute, and,
once again, appears to be greeted with open arms by a Planned
Parenthood employee, even though they made it clear from the
outset that they were "managing" a prostitution ring that
included 14 and 15 year-old girls, some of whom were not here
legally. The PPFA woman's memorable response is that, "We see
people from all walks of life," her example being women from the
local strip club.
"Planned Parenthood's
problems go far beyond New Jersey," said Live Action President
Lila Rose said in a statement. "Our new video shows their
Richmond clinic willing to aid and abet the sexual exploitation
of minors and coaching a pimp about how girls as young as 14 –
15 could circumvent parental consent laws for secret abortions.
Watch the video – the clinic worker admits they do this 'once or
twice a month.'"
PP of Central New Jersey,
sent scrambling, fired its office manager in Perth Amboy, N.J.,
when Live Action posted the video it had taken covertly in
January.
In the footage, the office
manager "coached them to lie about the age of the girls' sex
partners" reports Susan Livio of the Star Ledger. ''"If they are
a minor, we are obligated if we hear certain information, to
kind of report (it),' the manager said. 'So as long as they just
lie and say, 'Oh, he's 15, 16,' no one should question them."
When they asked the office
manager what should they do if one of the young girls they
pretended to be using as sex slaves needs an abortion, they were
allegedly told to take them to Metropolitan Medical Associates
where "their protocols aren't as strict as ours and they don't
get audited the same way that we do." As we reported yesterday,
back in 2009 Liz Townsend wrote a story for National Right to
Life News headlined, "Abortion Mill Settles Lawsuit with Injured
Woman" for $1.9 million. The headline refers to Metropolitan
Medical Associates.
In announcing the woman's
termination (interesting choice of words) in a Tuesday
statement, Phyllis Kinsler, chief executive officer of Planned
Parenthood of Central New Jersey, said that she and her
colleagues were "profoundly shocked when we viewed the videotape
released this morning, which depicted an employee of one of our
health centers behaving in a repugnant manner that is
inconsistent with our standards of care and is completely
unacceptable." She added, "We have a zero tolerance policy for
this kind of behavior, and the employee in the video was
immediately suspended from her duties this morning and was
terminated this evening."
What will we hear from the
Richmond abortion clinic?
On the video we hear the
Planned Parenthood woman say, "If someone's a minor and they
don't want their parents to know [because they would be on
their] parent's insurance – so an abortion would show up--you
fill out paperwork and we kinda help you set it up and we have a
confidential hotline that will call you at whatever number you
give us and handle the whole thing. So, for someone who's a
minor, that's a really good thing. We do 'em like once or twice
a month here." She adds, unnecessarily, "We're pretty good at
handling if someone doesn't want someone else to know."
According to the Star
Ledger's Livio, New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow has asked
the Division of Criminal Justice to investigate whether the
manager broke any laws. "At first glance, I find these
allegations to be very disturbing," Dow said in a statement.
Live Action sent a letter
this morning to Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli asking
that his office conduct a statewide investigation.
