PPFA's Weak Response to Tebow Ad
Part Two of Two

By Dave Andrusko

I always suspected PPFA would offer some comeback to Tim Tebow's much anticipated Super Bowl ad. The primary naysayers were NOW, the Feminist Majority, and the Women's Media Center, but it is PPFA that does the heavy lifting for the anti-life side.

Heisman Trophy-winning football star Tim Tebow (L) and US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen applaud this morning during the 58th National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton hotel.

Having said that, rather than purchasing an ad to run during the February 7 Super Bowl in Miami, what we see from PPFA is a Youtube special. Two guys --former NFL player Sean James and Olympic gold medalist Al Joyner--talk about respecting and honoring Mrs. Pam Tebow's decision not to abort Tim, going against doctor's advice, then pivot to how they are "working toward the day when every woman will be valued. Where every woman's decision about her health and her family will be respected." Etc., etc., etc.

You get the sense that PPFA felt it had no choice, pun intended. Many self-described "pro-choicers" have hammered NOW and the other ringleaders unmercifully for infringing on the free speech rights of Tim and Pam Tebow, and told them if they objected, run their own spot. Worse yet for the Abortion Establishment, these self-same "pro-choicers" concluded that NOW etc. were really pro-abortion.

And, of course, adding insult to injury, the anti-life side saw Tim Tebow garner even more attention for the 30-second spot when he was invited to give the closing prayer at this morning's National Prayer Breakfast.
