Pro-Abortion Democrats Quietly Working to Salvage Health Care “Reform”
Part Three of Three

By Dave Andrusko

I want you to read all three parts of TN&V Monday, so let me provide you with a link to an article from the Los Angeles Times, one quotation, and just a couple of words of commentary.

The link is http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-na-healthcare-strategy31-2010jan31,0,4131123.story. Please take five minutes to read the piece in its entirety.

Pro-abortion President Barack Obama

The quote follows the headline, “Democrats quietly working to resuscitate healthcare overhaul.” (The subhead reads, “While the focus shifts to legislation on jobs, party leaders are taking advantage of a cooling-off period to strategize, seek a new compromise and improve the public's opinion of the legislation.”)

Reporter Noam N. Levey tells us in the opening two sentences that “President Obama's campaign to overhaul the nation's healthcare system is officially on the back burner as Democrats turn to the task of stimulating job growth, but behind the scenes party leaders have nearly settled on a strategy to salvage the massive legislation. They are meeting almost daily to plot legislative moves while gently persuading skittish rank-and-file lawmakers to back a sweeping bill.”

How in the world can they do this, with public opposition at an all-time high? Stealthily, of course!

“Many have concluded that the only hope for resuscitating the healthcare legislation is to push the issue off the front page and give lawmakers time to work out a new compromise and shift public perception of the bill,” Levey writes.
Rest assured that “compromise” will not include a cessation of the campaign by pro-abortion Democratic congressional leadership and pro-abortion President Barack Obama to further the agenda of the Planned

Parenthoods and NARALs. The only “shift” in “public perception” they seek is to convince Americans that their bill does not do what they clearly want it to do: be the biggest expansion of abortion ever approved by Congress since Roe v. Wade.
