As college students are
rushing to meet deadlines and finalize
applications for summer internships, its well
worth a few minutes to plug a unique summer
opportunity for pro-life youth.
Since 2007 National Right to
Life Committee has been the home of the most
rigorous and comprehensive pro-life training
available. Termed by some as a "pro-life
educational boot camp," the curriculum of the
National Right to Life Academy presents students
with a demanding but engaging challenge. The
Academy not only equips the Millennial
generation with the tools to carry the fight for
life into the future but also ensures that they
will start making a difference in the Movement
right now.
Before I go any further, let
me highlight that the deadline to apply is March
27. The 2009 Academy kicks off it's six-week
session at the 37th annual NRLC Convention in
Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning June 17,
and wraps up in our nation's capital on July 31.

website,

for more details.
The Academy course goes into
incredible depth on all issues that pose a
threat to the lives of the unborn and the
vulnerable elderly. The curriculum is tied
together by an on-going analysis of the cultural
clash of ethics; that of a utilitarian ethic
that values the quality of life, versus the
equality or sanctity of life ethic.
Daily oral exercises give
students hands-on experience at articulating
their convictions. Students use these
simulations to both hone their argument and to
sharpen their delivery skills in a supportive
environment.
Are you thinking of a student
you know who would be a perfect fit for this
course? If so, send them over to our website at
http://www.nrlc.org/academy/academy.html.
They can download the application and get it in
the mail to me today. I have a stack of
applications in my right-hand drawer, but
there's room for more. As I mentioned before,
the deadline is March 27th.
The Academy provides our young
collegians with a lifetime of education in a
six-week session. Just imagine the learning
curve as these graduates continue on to a
lifetime of pro-life work! Smart investments in
the future of our cause will reward us with
invaluable returns.
Already, Academy education is
beginning to pay off. Alumni serve as young
leaders all across America, from state chapters
in Texas and Pennsylvania to campus clubs at
Franciscan University and Cornell.
I believe one alum put it
best, "The hope of the pro-life movement is in
programs like the Academy and in those students
willing to spend time preparing to face the
current and future challenges."
If you can support this hope
in some way please shoot me an email at
nrlcacademy@gmail.com. Young pro-life
leaders need your help in order to join us in DC
this summer.
