Infamous Abortionist Moves Next Door
to Pediatricians' Office
Part Three of ThreeBy Dave

A tip of the hat goes out to
Lifesitenews.com. It bought to a wider audience the news that infamous
abortionist Martin Haskell has closed his abortion clinic in Cincinnati and
"reopened in the suburb of Sharonville – mere steps away from Liberty
Sharonville Pediatrics"--which understandably incensed the pediatricians
who've been caring for infants and children since 1979.
It
was Haskell, as many of you may remember, who delivered a paper at the
National Abortion Federation (NAF) "Risk Management Seminar" in 1992 which
blew the cover on partial-birth abortions.
In a letter to the editor of the
Cincinnati Enquirer, Dr. Steve Brinn wrote, "Imagine our shock and
disbelief, when we learned that an abortion clinic was opening in the
building 50-feet from our front door. Why would a clinic performing
abortions be so insensitive to a group practice treating children for 31
years?"
Dr. Brinn went on indignantly, "To
have a group of OB/GYN doctors terminating fetuses just outside our door, to
force our mothers and their babies drive through a common driveway, driving
by the front of an abortion clinic, in order to park in our lot to have
their babies cared for is an atrocity. We are here to prevent infant
diseases, and they are here to end infant lives. We may not have the legal
right to get them to move but we will do anything in our power to vocalize
our personal disgust with their mission."
In related news, as discussed
yesterday, the president of the National Abortion Federation confirmed that
LeRoy Carhart will soon be taking up shop in an abortion clinic in
Germantown, Maryland. Carhart reportedly is pulling up stakes in Nebraska
now that the state has a law that prohibits abortion after 20 weeks
gestation based on compelling evidence that by 20 weeks, if not before,
unborn children have the capacity to experience pain
Last week the City Council of Council
Bluffs, Iowa, responded to rumors that Carhart might be wanting to purchase
a vacant city-owned lot by stipulating that a 24, 393-square-foot-vacant lot
cannot be used as an abortion clinic, according to Jon Leu of the
World-Herald News Service. "That restriction remains with the land 'no
matter how many times it is sold,' said City Attorney Richard Wade. It can
be removed only with action by the City Council."
However, "The city cannot force
private property owners to impose similar restrictions, and the city's
zoning rules permit an abortion clinic in any commercial zone or in an area
zoned for administrative-professional uses," according to Leu.
In a 1993 interview with the official
newspaper of the American Medical Association, Haskell not only explained in
chilling detail the specifics of the grisly partial-birth abortion
technique, he also revealed that 80% of the abortions he performed in the
20-24 week range were "purely elective."
